EGL7 (encode cellulase from Aspergillus fumigatus Af293)

Cellulose degradation requires that three types of hydrolytic enzymes—endo-1,4-beta;-glucanases (EC 3.2.1.4), cellobiohydrolases (EC 3.2.1.9), and β-glucosidases (EC 3.2.1.21)—act synergistically. EGL7, a kind of endoglucanase, catalyzes initial at- tack on the polymer and accounts for random cleavage of the β-1,4- glycosidic bonds present in the cellulose chain amorphous regions. And in our project, after drying ink and fiber between the main force is van der Waals forces, hydrogen bond, mechanical meshing force, an electrostatic force. Papermaking fibers are dead cells, the protoplasts in the cell lumen have disappeared, leaving only the intact cell wall structure. The cell wall is divided into the primary wall and the secondary wall. The thickness of the primary wall is 0.1~0.2 μm. The ink on the paper is organic, which is wrapped with pigments (such as carbon black), has strong chemical stability, can ignore the chemical interaction between cellulase and ink. The ink on the paper is directly connected to the primary wall of the fiber. So, EGL7 is a kind of endoglucanase that cuts fibers. The mechanism of cellulase promoting deinking of waste paper mainly lies in the interaction between cellulase and fiber.
